WADERS & BOOTS

The staff at WILSON’S recognize that a day on the water can quickly be ruined if you don’t have the right equipment to keep you from getting wet! Our experience has taught us that waders need to be breathable, durable and lightweight. In addition to our own field tests we have spoken with many of our customers over the years and have asked for your advice to make sure we continue to offer what you want!

We strongly believe that the best waders on the market are made by three companies: SIMMS, ORVIS and BARE. Each of the these product lines have individual strengths and we hope you agree that the product we have chosen will more than satisfy your needs.

SIMMS waders are a proven performer for anglers and guides the world over. These products typically have an articulated knee pattern, high-density neoprene and abrasion-resistant rubberized seam tape, flip-out chest pocket, adjustable X-strap suspenders that allow easy conversion to waist highs and a nylon wading belt and repair kit.

ORVIS waders are another proven performer valued for their durability and comfort. Orvis has over 20 different styles for men, women and children including the lowest-priced line of breathable waders in the industry.

CARE & CLEANING

Hang - do not bundle - damp waders after use or cleaning to prevent mildew. Also remember to remove the suspenders and the repair kit from the inside front pouch prior to washing and store your waders in a cool, dry place.

Please follow these simple instructions to ensure your waders retain their performance: (1) Do not dry clean, (2) do not use chlorine bleach, (3) hand or machine wash warm. Hand wash bootfoot waders only. Use a powdered detergent with no additives, such as Ivory®. (4) Air-dry (turn inside out).

There are a huge number of fly lines on the market and little advice on which to use – all the more reason to come to WILSON’S! We have researched all of the lines on the market, compared out notes to yours, and have decided that ORVIS and Scientific Angler make the best lines out there. Our staff have tried all of these products for you and can recommend the one which best suits your needs.

LEADERS & TIPPET
Some of the greatest improvements in fly-fishing over the last 50 years have been in area of leader and tippet materials. Today's co-polymer and flourocarbon materials allow the fly fisher to present flies to large fish and not only fool them, but to actually land fish that wouldn't have been possible using earlier materials in today’s small diameters. PVDF (polyvinylidenflourde) and flourocarbon materials have allowed the development of leaders and tippets that are not only amazingly abrasion resistant but also virtually disappear under water for unsurpassed stealth of presentation.
