Our courses are some of Canada’s most comprehensive, offering the basics in overhead and roll casting, entomology, fly tying, basic knots, how to read water and properly land fish. No other courses cover such a wide variety of topics and our professional and friendly staff will ensure that you enjoy
your day.

Casting Lessons

This session consists of 1 hour of instruction where we teach the basics of casting. All equipment is provided but there is no actual fishing in this course. This class is an excellent way to see what fly casting is about.

Fly Fishing Schools

The Toronto Fly Fishing School consists of 8 hours of classroom sessions, outdoor instruction and assisted fishing. Our friendly and knowledgable staff emphasize the basics of the fly cast and the proper techniques needed to catch a trophy trout on a fly. We explain the different types of equipment needed for fly fishing, how to choose the right gear, basic knots, how to read water and select the proper flies. All of the necessary equipment is provided along with a great lunch - all you do is show up ! This is a perfect introduction to for those who have not fly fished before and no fishing license is required.

Location: Humber Springs Trout Club, Orangeville

When:Saturdays from May through November with a minimum number of 4 students. For those unable to attend on Saturdays, alternate arrangements can be made - please contact the store for details.

Fly Tying Courses - Beginner & Intermediate

Booking

Bookings are taken year-round through the store and you should book early to ensure your class date. Each class is subject to minimum bookings as determined by WILSON’S and the store reserves the right to postpone any class without penalty or notice. A 25% non-refundable deposit is required upon booking. Courses are typically held on Saturdays or as mutually agreed.
